FN Browning 1900

This is the second in our collection of the Browning Patent 1900. The FN Browning M1900 is a single action, semi-automatic pistol designed c. 1896 by John Browning for Fabrique Nationale de Herstal (FN) and produced in Belgium at the turn of the century. It was the first production handgun to use a slide. This model has particular Historical interest to Australia.  Just prior to ww1 Europe was tense.  Australia at the time apparently had issues with German Imports.  Alcock and Pearce were importers of firearms in Victoria who were actively importing from Germany. Research shows this gun after production in Belgium went to Germany before Australia. Alcock and Pearce is still an active company in the sporting and firearms industry. This gun is clearly marked Alcock and Pearce Wiki ref
